Origin and History
Originated in the Valley of the Aire in Yorkshire, England. They were bred to catch otters and rats in the region between the Aire and Wharfe Rivers. They also served as messengers in WWI.
Temperament and Personality
Intelligent, outgoing, and confident. They can be stubborn and independent. They are generally good with children but can be dominant with other dogs.
